About Bellevue

Spurred by railroad development in northern Ohio, the community of Bellevue became a bustling city during the first half of the 20th century. Only twenty minutes from Lake Erie, this area is known as a Lake Erie vacation land. Bellvue finds itself situated in the corner of four counties, Erie, Huron, Sandusky and Seneca, and boasts a number of attractions and services for both locals and vacationing tourists.

Bellevue educates its residents and visitors on their local history via the Bellevue Historical Society, Historic Lyme Village, Heritage Museum, Mad River and NKP Railroad Museum, and the Sorrowful Mother Shrine. The Fallen Soldiers Memorial, Artist Guild, Belleview Society for the Arts, and a public library offer additional educational opportunities.

The Bellevue real estate market provides residents with comfortable living in a small-town environment. The community holds many annual events, including the Community Days Festival and Pioneer Days. Outdoor activities are abundant, as the area contains various golf courses, playgrounds, a hunting club and bike trails. The Seneca Caverns is a registered natural landmark located in southern Bellevue.
